Enough From me here is the Interview!!!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up initially in the suburbs of Brisbane. My Dad played professional football (soccer). So we then moved to Melbourne, then finally Sydney where I’ve spent most my life.
Describe your Sound/Style?
I would describe my style as “entertainment” in one word. Especially for my live shows now I have a band. But I’m definitely a soul-funk singer that can rap (these days).
How Long have you been Performing?
I watch the world, and am a man of the people’s! So they inspire me, I just tell it through my eyes … my experience! I think early on though it was my Mum and Dad that pushed me into my first choir, then stage musical …. then I rebelled and fell in love with the golden era of hip hop.
What inspired your music?
I can honestly say, I was born with it! My whole life I’ve been switched on, just goofing around with accents and characters!
In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?
That’s a tough question! I’m gonna make it easy and say, Chillinit! He’s a real dude who does his thing and really engages his audience through his platform… spoke with him a few times and I think he’s good for the people of the world! Be yourself, you know?
Who is your top 5 Artists Or producers or Albums?
Bob Marley, Prince, Common, Anderson Paak & MJ (no order)
Do you have anyone that you consider your mentor? How has their help or advice shaped you?
I have many mentors and they’ve definitely changed over the years. Some I have found willingly and most pass through at the right time. I listen to them, their wisdom if you chose to learn lessons can help you greatly. Me and my personal mental development has been immense this year!
What would be your dream collaboration with any Artist of any Genre?
Maverick Sabre and Jorja Smith should collab with me
Advice for the upcoming artist?
My advice would be to slow it right down. Learn to be patient and do the work. Learn your craft and network whilst staying afloat with current platforms ect. And be yourself, your own artist.
What are some current projects your working on?
My album Europe and a handful of singles I can’t talk about yet follow me on Spotify n all that
Do you have one you want to recognise or shout out?
I want to shout out to my homies in the cafe (they know) shout out to Nigel Hustle & Flow Bar and my homies at The Soulfix. Merry Christmas to my wonderful family, and my nephew Hudson
