Enough from me Here is the Interview!!!
Describe your Sound/Style?
In short “Yabadabaadobadaba.” as some have put it. But I’d describe my rap style as a technical chopper buzz. Although I like to keep diverse. My more recent video clip you owe us pretty much piss-take rap in a sense compared to the video before that titled empty which was probably the deepest shit I’ve written
How Long have you been Performing/Battling?
About a decade now I’ve been in the rap game. I stopped battling a couple of years back because of a disagreement between me and the owner of the league but it was a good platform to start out on. I remember starting out at high-school 2009 in a rap group with my mate Steven. Our group was called oh n9ne Souljah’s
What inspired your music?
A lot of artists I listen to influence my rap style. Started off with bone thugs, Yelawolf, Chamillionaire, Rittz, tech n9ne, Rayne of havik
Who is your top 5 Artists Or producers or Albums?
Anyone of the rappers above or in the NZ scene my favourites is spreading the sickness. They got a kid in there stanza blade I flew down to chch to battle him when he was 16, he whooped my ass I underestimated him hard. Ugly side.
They got this fella true who I was doing gigs with since before we were even allowed in the clubs. The best hook maker in NZ. Revus he’s the best producer in NZ IMO. Also diverse as an artist l, his main following is in reggae music. Joey Warner also lethal on the mic
Do you have anyone that you consider your mentor? How has their help or advice shaped you?
Musically I’d say pakkz helped out heaps right when I started out. Anonymous also played a part. But my biggest influence would have to be my father. He can play any instrument and has given me advice that has helped in all walks of life. In fact, I only started rapping to send the songs into dad when he got sent to prison for 8 years when I was 15. He plays a huge part in my music.
What would be your dream collaboration with any Artist of any Genres?
Anyone from strange music would be a dope collab for me. An artist bringx is also keen to collab that should be a dope one I just gotta wait till I got something good enoughIn NZ getting gin Wigmore on a hook would be dope.
Advice for the upcoming artist?
My advice is to make sure this is what you want. Cause as time goes on you’ll be tested and the main factor will be your ability to keep going. Look at me a decade in I’ve had moments where I’ve wanted to quit but that passion for this game keeps me going.
And try to make it so the only person you need to rely on is yourself. That way any failures or success are on you. As an underground artist your pretty much the producer the engineer the promoter and the publicist as well as the rapper.
What are some current projects your working on?
I’ll be releasing an album with all my old favourites and a few new ones on Spotify this month called chaos formula
Do you have one you want to recognize or shout out?
Shout outs to crack. Nah, shout outs to chop City my sponsor and to Taylor Johnson who helped me get to perform with savage for the MMA world cup recently. And shout outs to all my 4saykenists that got me where I am today. Much love yo
What are the Best bars you have written or heard?
A lot of my best bars have been in my battles. I got a mash-up vid but off the top probably where I battled this crip gekkz. I turn up to this event and there’s about 10 of them all standing there blued out head to toe.
During the battle I said “see blue ain’t his colour, it’s his lifestyle too, he blew every dude wearing blue in his crew. See gekkz is ur average blue-collar dude with blue balls cause his girl got a blue waffle cooch” or when I battled stanza I said a bar that got the whole event shut down “if this was a weekday he’d get done with truancy, and when his mates see an r18 movie he waits in the car cause he can’t pass security. I’m sure that you thought u would ruin me but you’re a kid so don’t even start if you can’t buy cigarettes you ain’t a killer yet bitch you can’t even go drink at the bar”
