This week we are leveling up the talent here at Hustlers Handbook we have the one and only NJE.
Hailing originally from Auckland and growing up in Campbelltown the area code which is known for its local talent.
Nowadays rapping out of Brisbane, NJE is a huge talent.
His music is full of life experience and topics every kind of listener can relate to, this coupled with his skilled wordplay and Lyrics that will make you reflect and see the true perspective of a legendary artist who has done a lot for the Hip hop scene.
In 2017 he Founded his own label called “The Essence Entertainment” Signing Campbelltown local Untaymable.
He has been dropping classic tracks since 1999 definitely one of the greats. I first heard the album “From the Outside Looking In” and it is still one of my go-to albums with timeless songs throughout.
You need to check out his older albums they are just as good and I guarantee they will be great additions to your playlists.
Recently he has dropped 2 tracks that are solid bangers and are going to be huge.”Ballad of the Broken Hearted” which is inspirational and really shows us the strength in positivity and the journey of it all.”Pay Attention” is another impressive addition it is a banger of a song.
NJE has blessed the stages of many International and Local Artists including Ice Cube, Xzibit, Public Enemy, Hopsin, D12, The Outlawz, Horrorshow, EMCEE KERSER, 360, Seth Sentry, Spit Syndicate, Hyjak N Torcha, and Bone Thugs N Harmony.
I have to mention also that he spends time on many Community projects and runs Local Gigs and goes to YMCA’s and Schools giving them inspiration and sharing his stories and its acts like this that Spark a change and gives the new generation that advice they need to succeed.

Why the name NJE?
It’s my initials. My full name is Neil James Edwards. Rather than going with something that would go out of style I stuck with something already stuck!
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Moved to Sydney Australia at 8 years old. I grew up and started my journey in Campbelltown (West Sydney) from my bedroom. The city has birthed many respected emcees.
What Inspired your Music?
Life… Experience.. Love… Loss.. Highs/lows. And just being in love with Hip-Hop as a young teen.
How Long have you been Rapping?
Since 1999. Yes, a very long time
What are some current projects your working on?
My upcoming album (4th) titled “The Evolution Of One’s Self”. I have dropped 3 singles from the album already. I’m also currently running showcase shows for upcoming local emcees around the main cities of Australia. I call the event “Next Up”. I take pride in giving back. Another thing I do is teach workshops at schools and youth centers throughout the week. All of the above is my job. I’m very proud to be a productive businessman. I run it all under my label The Essence
Entertainment.
Advice for the Upcoming Artist?
Yes!. Be YOURSELF. Speak on real life shit. Speak on what you’re going through. Set goals, believe and achieve them. Stick to your guns. Oh, and don’t worry about that guy over there… Do you and do it well!!.
Who is your top 5 Artists?
Outkast, NAS, JAY-Z, 2Pac, Eminem
These 5 have probably influenced me the most.
Who would be your Ultimate Feature/Colab?
Oh mannn… Probably Jay-Z. Or Eminem
Message to the Youth?
Stay positive. Find something you love and do it!!. Enjoy your teenage years because it changes real quick. Smile and value each day and the good people around you.
