Fresh Violet

This edition of the Spotlight Series is huge we have a truly Inspirational Femcee.

Hailing from Melbourne we have the one and only Fresh Violet.

With her cheeky and fun punchlines laced with wordplay and solid bars makes her an instant classic and an inspiration to upcoming rappers.

I first heard of Fresh Violet with a video clip called “Breakfast”, A chilled out tongue in cheek song with witty and fun bars. Next track I saw from her was Gangsta this was insanely good and showed off the crazy skills and bars she spits with ease and you can tell she is really having fun with it.

Album and EP wise she has had some solid bangers “ACKBARS” Released May 2018 is full of lyrical goodness and catchy beats.

She then followed this up with the Album “50 Shades of Violet” which was a great album throughout and featured some insanely talented Artists such as Mr. Ruckman, P.Smurf and Lady Lash.

Next up released on 5th July was a Collaboration with Fresh Violet and Card Houses, It’s definitely a solid addition to her work.

Recently she signed a Record Deal with Scratches Records and Golden Robot Records. We are keen to see what comes next for Fresh Violet.

She has blessed the stage with many Artists Local and International such as Snak The Ripper, Clue, Martian, Rapaport, N’Fa, Mistress of Ceremony, Mammal and Butterfingers.

Where did you grow up?

Melbourne, I went to the same high school as Kylie Minogue.

What Inspired your Music?

My life. My experiences. My thoughts. I just like making stuff, it’s how I process what I go through and how I express myself. It keeps me sane.

How long have you been Rapping?

5 or 6 years, but was writing poems and lyrics and music long before that. It felt like a natural to combine all my skills into one main project.

What are some current projects your working on?

I just signed a deal to release my 2nd album with Scratches Records. I’m writing the album at the moment. I’m excited because ‘50 Shades of Violet’ was an examination of a very difficult time in my life. There are a lot of happy and fun moments on it but beneath the surface, I worked through a lot of turmoil which resolved on the final track. I think the next record is going to be a look ahead and a new page in my story.

Advice for the Upcoming Artist?

Focus on the thing that only YOU can add to the world.
