Why the name Ursa?
Ursa Major is a star constellation made up of 7 stars. Each representing one member of my former crew BAD MOOD MOVEMENT. 13 is the year I graduated high school. But if you ask around you might get a few different versions of what the 13 means to me lol.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Tauranga New Zealand. Often travelling to a place called Waiohau where all my mum’s ancestors and family members are buried.
What Inspired your Music?
I’ve been inspired to do music since the womb I think. I’m sure there are tapes of me as a kid tryna play the drums with 2 toothbrushes and a bucket
Also, I wanted to be a wrestler as a kid but I didn’t think the tights would look good on me so I looked until I found something that made me feel like a wrestler and that was hip hop 😂.
How Long have you been Rapping?
I had my first hip hop gig on October the 11th 2014 and that was the day I started hip hop and it’s been a hell of a journey since then.
What are some current projects your working on?
I have lots of things that I could potentially drop. However lately I have been in the midst of trying to find out more about my sound. I love being diverse. I not only Rap but I love to sing and play the guitar as well.
Advice for the Upcoming Artist?
Network always. Be nice to people because you never know who you could be talking to.
Who is your top 5 Artists?
Kanye West Travis Scott Young Thug Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre Childish Gambino There’s so many I haven’t even taken into consideration.
Who would be your Ultimate Feature/Colab?
Kanye West. Could you imagine the shit that guy could come up with, we could be on some Haka Trap I am a God vibe or something.
Message to the Youth?
My Dad always told me, don’t wait for an opportunity to come to you, go out and make your own opportunities and then you may reap the benefits. So don’t be a lazy Lil shit.
