Why the name Godvillain?

Godvillain is a fairly new name. I was doing music before under a different name for years and I stepped back and had to reassess myself as an artist. I fell on Godvillain and I felt it suited my trial and tribulations that I’ve gone through as a person.

Where did you Grow up?

I grew up in Cairns, Far North Queensland. But I was originally born in Tweed Heads, New South Wales. I moved from Tweed Heads with my mum to Cairns when I was about 7 years old and I’ve been there ever since.

How long have you been Rapping for?

I wrote my first rap in Year 7 which was in 2009. But it wasn’t until 2011 in Year 9 I wrote my first serious rap if you can even call it serious haha.

Describe your Sound/Style?

Outside of the box but in your face. Technical with bits of melodies.

Do you have anyone that you consider your mentor? How has their help or advice shaped you?

Yes, his name is Fred Watson, he’s a guitarist and vocalist for a band called 3 Hour Flight and one of my best mates. He’s taught me so much over the years with stuff like recording, timing, tones and even just teaching me how to hold myself in a studio has shaped the way I am. If it wasn’t for him I would not be where I’m am today. I owe him my life.
